The house sits off the road leading from Amalfi north to Positano, making it ideal for those looking for peace and tranquility without being 'off the beaten track' as Amalfi and all that it offers is reachable by a short drive (1.5 miles), or 30 minutes on foot. Down the steps from the entrance gate of the villa are 2 well known restaurants offering delicious local cuisine, as well as the SITA bus stop to Amalfi (10 minutes) and Positano (30 minutes). All essentials (bars, shops, banks, and post office) are in Amalfi. A public staircase (about 400 steps), 400 meters away, leads down to a public beach with 2 restaurants, as well as umbrellas and lounge chairs for hire.

Property Details

Villa on 3 levels (2,500 sq ft).
The grounds of the villa (about 6,000 sq ft) are spread out over 3 levels and connect to each other by an external stone stairway; each garden and terrace enjoys fabulous views of Amalfi and the sea. Off the main road there is space for 3 cars to park. From here, the external stairway leads up 110 steps to the main gate to the first garden level, a well kept grassy area. Another 30 steps lead to the second garden level suitable either for sun-bathing or for dining. Part of the terrace is paved and shaded by olive trees and large awnings. It is furnished with an outdoor shower, dining table seating 12, deck-chairs and a barbecue. Yet another 25 steps up (so, 165 steps from your car) lead to the third and top level sun terrace which is furnished with wrought iron tables and chairs for 4, built-in seating, outdoor shower and deck chairs. This top level terrace enjoys the most spectacular views on the property.

A swimming pool (8m x 5m) completes the landscaping on the large terrace.

Recently renovated, the interior of the villa is bright, fresh and immaculately appointed. There are 3 levels of indoor living space: First level, Second level and Third level.

First level: From the first garden level 12 external steps lead up to the entrance of the first interior level (so, 122 steps from your car…) which is composed of a sitting area, spacious living/dining area seating 4, and 2 double bedrooms each with en-suite bathrooms with showers. One of the bedrooms (can be made up as twins) is behind the living/dining room and has a French door opening onto the back of the villa; there is no view from this bedroom. The other bedroom has a queen size bed and a window with lovely views. Each bedroom has independent air conditioning and heating.

Second level: This level is accessed directly from the second garden level (so, 140 steps from your car…). Entering through a small hallway, on the right-hand side is a superb kitchen with ultra modern appliances (3 small refrigerators, espresso machine, and dishwasher), marble counter tops and solid wood drawers, open fireplace and antique dining table seating 12. From the kitchen a small hallway leads to an elegant bathroom with Jacuzzi tub, sink and WC. Down the hall is a living room and a spacious double bedroom (can be made into twins). Both the living room and the bedroom have access to the second garden/terrace level. On the left side of the kitchen the small hallway leads to another spacious double bedroom with lovely views. Finally there is a smaller double bedroom with window opening onto the rear of the house, so there are no sea views. The 2 bedrooms on this side of the kitchen share a hallway bathroom with a sink, shower and WC and window with views. At the end of this hallway, a door opens directly onto the garden terrace.

Third level: From the top terrace level (so, 165 steps from the cars!), 7 steps lead down (down, finally some steps down) into a romantic attic apartment for two composed of a dining room, antique love-seat, and a kitchen corner with small fridge, sink and 2 electric burners. There is a bathroom with shower, sink and WC. The double bedroom (can be made up as twins) is furnished with a large wrought iron headboard, antique furniture and window overlooking the garden.

The villa is equipped with a telephone, and ADSL wireless internet connection. Each bedroom has a flat screen TV, and each bathroom has hairdryers. English speaking manager on call, luggage carrying service, both on arrival and on departure, included in the price. Local cook, food delivery, babysitter, extra maid service, baby cot and high chair available on request for an additional fee.

If you choose to reserve this property rental for your vacation in Italy you will have the option to book a Welcome Basket which will be delivered just prior to your arrival. No need to stress over finding the nearest market for bread & cheese, wine and water, snacks and drinks. Provisions include various and seasonal ingredients to get you through the weekend. The Welcome Basket must be arranged in advance and paid for on-site in cash. Prices vary:
