Sora Maria is part of an old 17th century villa in a beautiful part of Positano coveted for its location directly overlooking the sea. This vacation home rental is especially desired for its terrace with spectacular views, new and modern décor, spaciousness and proximity to the lively center of Positano.
Location
From the main street which runs through Positano, the villa is accessed via a staircase of about 75 steps. The property is centrally located, the closest fruit and grocery stores, as well as several cafes and restaurants are at the bottom of the steps that lead to the villa. The closest beach is the main in Positano, Spiaggia Grande. It can only be reached on foot in 5-6 minutes by following a colorful downhill alley closed to traffic, with shops and boutiques, which will take you to the beach (about 600 meters away). From the port in Positano, adjacent to the Spiaggia Grande, you can take the ferries and hydrofoils to Capri (30 min), Naples (50 min), Amalfi (30 min) and Salerno (1.5 hr). Services are most frequent from May to September. The other villages of the coast are easily reached by blue buses marked SITA. The nearest SITA bus stop is a 10-15 minute walk from the villa. In addition to the big SITA busses, there is a little commuter bus that takes you around Positano and which stops on the street below the villa. These busses run every 20 minutes or so in high season (May-September).
While a car is not necessary, a parking space is provided in a private parking lot, about a 5-minute walk from the property, and should be booked in advance (cost is about €20 per day per car).

Large apartment in a villa; 1,512 sq ft + 432 sq ft sea view terrace
The villa has 2 double bedrooms, a twin bedroom in a loft/mezzanine, and 3 bathrooms. The main entrance to the villa is through a beautiful arched wooden door and into the entrance hall with high vaulted ceilings. This hall is divided into two areas. The first area gives way to a library with two red sofas, reading lamps and tables. Up a wooden staircase is the mezzanine level with twin beds and overlooks the lower level of the house (into the library). From the library, three stairs lead to a long hall which runs at the back of all the other rooms. Starting at the far end of the hall and adjacent to the library is a large modern bathroom with a fully enclosed shower, a sink, WC and washing machine. Again from the entrance hall, accessed via 3 steps, there is a sitting area furnished with two armchairs, a built in bench with cushions and a piano. From here a wide arched glass door opens out onto the terrace while a set of wooden doors leads into a spacious bedroom with double bed, antique bedside tables, built-in wardrobe, antique chest of drawers, two armchairs and en-suite, spacious bathroom with a fully enclosed large shower, a sink and WC. The living/dining area is furnished to a high standard, and equipped with a sofa, two armchairs, a dining table seating up to six guests, an antique fireplace, a flat screen TV with CD and DVD player. The high ceilings and French doors overlooking the terrace provide a great amount of light to this room.
The terrace lies in front of the main living/dining room and the third bedroom. The terrace has a dining table which can comfortably seat six guests shaded by a white sun umbrella, two armchairs and comfortable lounge chairs. The main feature of the house, the splendid terrace offers a wide view of the sea with the three picturesque Islands of Li Galli in the distance. The terrace is filled with pots of colorful flowers, red climbing bougainvillea and ornamental trees.
The modern kitchen is small but well organized and equipped with fridge, freezer, five-burner gas range with oven, dishwasher, electric kettle, microwave, toaster, and Italian style coffee maker. The third bedroom, accessed either from the terrace or from the sitting/dining room, has a double bed, antique bedside tables, a solid wood wardrobe, antique chest of drawers, and spacious en-suite bathroom with a fully enclosed shower, a sink and WC.
