Villa Pratolino

Villa Pratolino is an independent villa rental on the slopes of the Amalfi Coast in the town of Ravello with beautiful views over the mountains and down into the valley and the sea below. The well-tended grounds, spacious terraces and secure swimming pool provide a peaceful environment for travelers of all ages.

Location

The villa is about a 10-minute walk form the Piazza Vescovado in Ravello with its fine shops, open air cafés and restaurants, and where you have the SITA bus stop with service to Amalfi, Positano and Sorrento. From the quay of Amalfi, ferries and hydrofoils travel between the towns of Positano, Sorrento, Naples and Salerno and the islands of Capri and Ischia (This service operates from April-October).

From the main road an electronic gate gives access to the private driveway of the villa which slopes down to the outdoor parking area which is suitable for 3 or 4 cars, depending on the size of each car. The main entrance door of the villa is only 9 steps from the parking area.

Property Details

The property flows over 2 levels of terraces and grounds with beautifully tended gardens and terraced fields with vineyards, lemon and orange trees, bougainvillea and other Mediterranean plants. The swimming pool (6m x 18m x 3.5m) is located on the lower and widest terrace of the property. The swimming pool area is equipped with tables, chairs, deck chairs, sun loungers, a swing and an external shower. Part of the garden near the pool is shaded by a stone porch furnished with dining table, chairs and sofas. On the pool level there is a playground area for children and a guest bathroom.

Villa on 2 floors; 3,240 sq ft
The interior of the villa is furnished with antiques, original art, high-quality fittings, and new modern conveniences to create a welcoming and cozy atmosphere. The floors are covered with local majolica tiles hand made by local artisans.

Ground floor: Entrance is from the furnished terrace, through three French doors, into a combined sitting/dining room with table for 10, two comfortable sofas and armchairs placed around a fireplace, flat screen satellite TV, a DVD player and a CD player. Adjacent to the sitting/dining room there is a very well equipped kitchen including a four-burner gas stove, an oven, a large refrigerator with freezer, a dishwasher, a microwave, an Italian-style coffee maker and other small appliances. There is also a table for four. From the kitchen two doors lead to a patio with a broad view of the sea and of the valley below. The patio is partly shaded by a retractable awning and is equipped with dining table for up 10 people, a barbecue and a wood-fired pizza oven. The patio enjoys an enchanting view of the vegetation and of the coastline. It can be accessed via the kitchen door or via the terrace on the ground level. There is one bathroom on this floor with sink, WC, shower, hairdryer, a washing machine and iron and ironing board.

Upper floor: Up 16 wooden stairs is the upper floor sleeping area. There are three queen size bedrooms which lead to a wide terrace (about 430 sq ft) which is partly shaded by a retractable awning and is equipped with a table, chairs and deck chairs. From the terrace guests can enjoy an enchanting view of the garden and, partially, of the sea in the distance. There is one very large bathroom with tub and one bathroom with large shower. Both bathrooms are located in the hallway. A fourth queen bedroom on this floor has a window with a view of the garden and an en-suite bathroom with a sink, WC, large shower and a hairdryer. Two of the 4 queen bedrooms on this floor can be converted into twins. All bedrooms are equipped with TVs and air conditioners and heating units.

The 5th bedroom is independent from the main portion of the house and is accessed from the lower level. This large room has a queen size bed which faces two arched windows with a splendid view of the sea and of the coastline. The room has air conditioning and the en-suite bathroom has a sink, WC, a tub and a hairdryer.

A separate building/annex by the pool is occupied by a very welcoming and discrete housekeeper and her husband who look after the house.
