Villa Tesoro

Villa Tesoro is a luxury Tuscany villa rental in the heart of the Chianti countryside. This villa is a splendid mix of ancient architecture and modern comfort. The estate owes its quality to a 14th century tower dominating the construction, with parts of the home dating back to the 11th century, carefully restored to welcome up to 14 guests.

Location

The villa is located just outside of Impruneta offering an array of shops and restaurants. There is a bus stop 150 meters from the villa entrance which will take you directly to Florence so that you don’t have to worry about parking your car when you get there. Impruneta is about a mile away, and while it is possible to walk into town, it is more comfortable to take your car due to the narrow roads.

There is an outdoor market in Impruneta on Friday (8AM-1PM) selling locally produced items. Other attractions include the terra cotta workshops where you can admire and purchase artisan pots, hand-painted plates and jars; the nearby Villa Corsini at Mezzomonte (formerly a Medici villa), the Church of Santa Maria in Impruneta which was bombed during World War II and renovated in an impressive Renaissance style; the Festival of San Luca which takes place in Impruneta on October 18 and is celebrated with food booths, dinners, horse races and during the week is celebrated by livestock trading. Probably the most famous festival in town is the Grape Festival (festa dell’uva) which occurs on the last Sunday in September. All other important hill towns and attractions in Tuscany can be reached easily by car from Villa Tesoro due to its proximity to both major highways in the region (A1 Autostrada del Sole, and the Florence-Siena superstrada).

Property Details

The grounds of the ancient Tuscany villa rental offer a variety of outdoor seating areas and dining tables for meals al fresco. The swimming pool (15m x 8m; open June-September) is made private by a tall hedge. Plenty of grassy areas and beautiful olive orchards provide ample room for children to play and where adults can take pleasure in the magnificent views over the Chianti. A large tiled area in front of the home is equipped with dining table in either sun or shade.

On the lower ground floor is the villa’s wine cellar which guests can visit with the estate’s sommelier, there is also a small gym room and sauna, laundry room (washer and dryer) and the staff rooms. On the first floor is a large reception room with fireplace, 2 salons, a dining room for 14, kitchen (microwave, oven, 2 fridges and freezer) and guest bathroom. There are 2 double bedrooms on this floor each with en suite bathroom. On the second floor there are 4 bedrooms: master with en suite bathroom; a twin bedroom (2 singles) with en suite bathroom; double bedroom and a twin bedroom with 2 canopy beds. The double bedroom and canopy bedroom share a bathroom. Also on this floor there is a sitting room with satellite TV, and a salon with grand piano. On the third floor (referred to as the “tower room”) is a small living room with TV, 1 twin bedroom which can be combined into a double with lovely view into the valley, and a bathroom.

On arrival the owners offer the guests a complimentary dinner with 2 bottles of the estate’s wine and olive oil. The service of a cook for continental breakfasts is included in the price (cost of food extra). The service of a cook for dinners is available at additional cost. Also available at additional cost: cooking lessons in the villa, tour of the vineyards and wine making facilities on the estate, personal laundry, extra change of linens and towels, telephone and heating at the rate of 50 euros per day of use. Housekeeping is included in the price and provided by the on-site staff Monday-Saturday.

Amenities include: Satellite TV with some English channels, air conditioning units in the bedrooms except on the third floor tower room suite, window screens in the bedrooms (except in the tower bedroom), high chair and crib available.
